We laugh, But not like yesterday. We laugh, For lack of choice.
What else is there to do? – The future comes too fast To end the past.
Goodbyes Are not as they were, Not as they should be. They are rushed, Sterile, Or missed entirely.
So what is there left to do But to laugh in the face of Uncertainty – In rejection of False Goodbyes In protest of The voiceless stasis of life.
None of this will last. We laugh out loud And hope in silence…
And we wait…
The Author
Tatiana was born in Russia, grew up in Germany, and her love for literature eventually brought her to Ireland. She is currently living in Dublin and studying Irish Writing at Trinity College. She and her friends – international students from all over the world – were suddenly separated when Covid19 forced them to return home or go into isolation. They try to keep up each other’s spirits until they can travel and meet up again.
