At Peace

by E. Izabelle Cassandra Alexander

See me now

or forever close your eyes

blinded to my soul

Hear me this moment

as my song of peace resonates

with your dreams of love

Touch my mind with

your essence of strength and hope

and open my heart to

satiating, eternal, selfless love

Tomorrow is here,

just come near

and hold my hand

as we listen to silence,

while I wrap my arms

around your heart

and kiss your eyes

in quiet, meek gentleness

First published by the Illinois State Poetry Society in ISPS Anthology, Distilled Lives, Vol. 4. October 2018
