Inspired Work

I might take black and white and juxtapose it against vibrant colour as in the piece "Floret" 

I frequently will use both painting and printmaking in one piece of art. In "Vase of Cherry Blossoms" I contrast a print on top of a painting.

I work primarily with inks, acrylic and latex house paint. My work can be segmented into parts: diptychs, triptychs and quarter or there can be single images standing alone.  My work Is often informed by nature and can speak to the duality of life.

 I frequently combine representational work with abstract work as in " Gold and Bronze Strength" 

I am very interested in different patterns and how they can enhance the work. In "Almond Print" an India ink print of the almond plant is juxtaposed on top of other organic shapes and patterns.

The floral prints were done with latex house paint, One image was cut from a material called SafetyKut, a soft easy to carve material much like a softer more buttery version of linoleum or wood. I print the same block multiple times in different ways in different colors. The prints were made on top of a painting, the painting being made with simple India ink, bamboo brush on a type of paper called "Yupo" a non-absorbent, slick vellum type paper.
